A day that will live in infamy.

I have very exciting news to share. It is official--I am returning to school for my fifth degree and my second doctorate! You would think one would be enough but I am actually coming full-circle and fulfulling the promise of what I began over thirty years ago. This degree will be in Hebrew Bible with what I anticipate will be a minor area of concentration in Ancient Judaism. Right here in Denver at DU they have a joint doctoral program between DU and the Iliff School of Theology. I recently attended Admit Day where I met other admitted students, went to a class, learned more in depth about the program, and had lunch with a faculty member with whom I would love to work. As parking is expensive and I wll not be able to afford it unless I can just find street parking nearby, I have decided to either ride my bike or the bus to get to campus. Yesterday Matt and I staked out a great route to campus that mainly rode through neighborhoods and that took just under an hour. I am very excited about the prospect of riding to school on my bike because Denver weather is so awesome. I will get exercise and be outside getting sunshine and fresh air. It is a win all around! So far this spring has been really good. I ended the ski season a little over a week ago on a very high note. I am skiing very well and feel that I will be ready next season to get back on a black diamond. I have the new doctoral program in the fall to look forward to and I am leaving for a trip to Kalispell on Sunday while Matt goes on his school trip to Crow Canyon. One thing that I will be doing this summer as a pre-req for my admission to the doctoral program is that I have to take the equivalent of a year's worth of Koine Greek. I have been looking and looking for a program and Matt finally found one that fits the requirements and the budget at Princeton Theological Seminary. I have sent in my application and hope to be all signed up soon. In addition, I will be teaching a class for Summer B entitled "Who's Who Among the Rabbis" and attending Erin and Adam's "wedding." It is in quotation marks because they have been married for a year and half already but that was their COVID wedding at the courthouse and this will be their nice ceremony/party with friends and family. It will be a busy but fun summer!
